Dr. Soncia Reagins-Lilly
Executive Consultant and Founder
Dr. Soncia Reagins-Lilly is a distinguished higher education executive with decades of experience at leading Research One public institutions. She provided steadfast support to three University Presidents over the last 18 years. Her career reflects an unwavering commitment to advancing the student experience, cultivating strong organizational cultures, and building talented teams to contribute to the University’s mission.
As a retired Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Reagins-Lilly led an extensive portfolio of services, including housing, dining, student leadership, facility and crisis management, and recreational sports. Under her stewardship, she managed an est. $241 million budget, guided approximately 3,500 staff, and implemented transformative initiatives to promote student well-being and academic success.
Dr. Reagins-Lilly has served in critical leadership roles at the University of California, Los Angeles, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and California State University, San Bernadino bringing strategic vision, execution, and operational excellence to each institution. Her hallmark accomplishments include developing crisis management protocols, expanding student behavioral and mental health services, and driving innovative policies that foster access, affordability, and accountability. A passionate advocate for higher education, Dr. Lilly was also a Professor of Practice in the College of Education Leadership and Policy program at the University of Texas at Austin and provides consulting services to public and private universities including non-profit organizations.
Dr. Reagins-Lilly has earned accolades and selective opportunities such as Leadership Texas, Governors Executive Leadership Program, Women We Admire’s Top 50 Women of the Year (2024), and the Warfield/Wright Outstanding Faculty of the Year (2024). She served key organizations, including the American Association of Public Land-Grant Universities (APLU) and the National Association of Student Affairs (NASPA). She is actively involved in community leadership through non-profit board memberships and her affiliation with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
